We offer a variety of classes and groups to fit your needs. Please bookmark this page to stay up to date with our curriculum. Participants are required to be Abundance Midwifery Service clients to attend. Please contact your midwife to register.

Prenatal & Birth Preparation Classes

 

Group Prenatal Care

Led by: Victoria Meinhardt, LM, CPM

Description: Group Prenatal Care is childbirth education combined with prenatal care. Patients, midwives, and a co-facilitator attend group education sessions with prenatal checks for each patient. 

• Provides health check-ups with others due in your timeframe

• You'll share experiences and receive education

• These sessions replace individual prenatal visits for most of your pregnancy

Mondays from 2:00pm to 4:00pm

Childbirth Education

Led by: Jamie Crouse Gwynn, Student Midwife, Certified Doula​

Description: 

Session 1: Anatomy and physiology of childbirth, hormones of labor, stages of labor

Session 2: Making birth choices, benefits and risks of common interventions, managing potential complications

Session 3: Comfort measures for labor, relaxation, breathing techniques, physical support, labor and birthing positions

Session 4: What to expect postpartum, basics in newborn care, basics of breastfeeding​

Cost: $60 per session or $150 for the whole series
