About Manal Mahmoud
Manal Mahmoud is a student midwife, certified doula and heart-centered birth worker based in Austin, TX. A true Austinite, she has spent more than 20 years serving her community. This includes leading initiatives at her local congregation, empowering young women and supporting youth from all walks of life.
Her birth journey began in 2019 when she witnessed the magnificence of home water birth, a moment that planted the seeds of midwifery in her heart. It also reconnected Manal to her indigenous roots and timeless, woman-centered birth traditions. Guided by Islamic principles, she sees supporting women through childbirth as a sacred trust. And a form of worship honoring the strength, sacrifice and dignity of mothers. As an Ummpowered Birth and Wellness Certified Doula, Manal provides culturally sensitive family support as she begins academic and clinical midwifery training.
Manal’s nurturing spirit extends beyond birth work. As a foster and international host mother, she creates safe, inspiring spaces for youth. Spunky, warm and full of heart, Manal embraces her indigenous Hispanic and Arab roots. She is deeply committed to serving women from all backgrounds bringing joy, purpose and trust to every family she supports.
